The Equity Partnership supports Bradford’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and Trans communities in a variety of ways.
We play an active role in developing our LGB&T communities by supporting existing groups and helping new ones to start through our community development work. We run the quarterly Bradford LGBT Group Network, where groups and individuals come together to network and discuss issues.
We support LGB&T groups and individuals to have a say in the decisions taken by agencies which affect our lives. We work in partnership with other voluntary and statutory agencies to ensure that local services are appropriate to the needs of LGB&T people.
We send representatives to various Forum meetings involving council and NHS representatives, and voluntary and community sector organisations which influence how services are run, and to the Homophobic & Transphobic Hate Crime Scrutiny panel run by West Yorkshire Police in Bradford, to influence how they deal with complaints about homophobic & transphobic hate crime.
Our training programme is geared towards giving organisations the knowledge and tools to combat homophobia and transphobia and create LGB&T friendly workplaces and services.
The Equity Centre provides a relaxed meeting space for groups, a fully-equipped training resource and a venue for events right in the centre of Bradford, and news bulletins and email updates keep our supporters up to date with the latest news and events.
You can show your support for the Equity Partnership in several ways. You can have a voice in our future development by becoming a member or supporter, or you can volunteer to help us with short-term projects, depending on your skill base.
