"Staff are working by phone to offer practical and emotional support on how dementia affects people, coping strategies such as managing changes in behaviour, support available from other services and a listening ear. We will take referrals and are also offering regular welfare calls throughout the Covid-19 crisis.

We offer information, practical ideas and support (not personal care) to people with a diagnosis of dementia and their carers.

Dementia Advisor service and Dementia Support Worker Service

Anyone diagnosed across the district should be referred by the Consultant to this service , staff will contact and provide a 1-1 service giving information on all aspects relating to dementia , future planning and services available. Staff will offer support and help as the condition progresses, from issues relating to the progression of the condition, accessing specialist help and talking through emotionally stressful situations. Anyone can refer into this service.

We also offer a number of virtual groups, such as singing for the brain, carers support group and Wellbeing Cafes. We also have a group specific to those early in their journey of dementia.
