Description:

Wrose Adventurers is an association set up for young people aged between 11 and 25 with high functioning autism. We are a small and friendly group, based at Highcroft Youth Centre in Wrose, Shipley. Our members come from all over the Bradford District, to have fun, play games and socialise. We meet on Wednesday evenings when members can socialise in a safe setting and join in activities such as pool, arts and crafts, board games or just chill and listen to music and use laptops. We also organise occasional trips to bowling, laserzone and to eat out at local restaurants. Our group exists to relieve stress and advance the education, social and mental wellbeing of young adults with autism (and related conditions) and their families and carers. Our informal social skills club is supported by experienced staff and a dedicated group of volunteers. We are managed by a parent-carer committee, and rely on small voluntary sector grants to keep running.

Wrose Adventurers welcomes new members, and is always happy to hear from new volunteers to work with the group. Our ethos is to provide a relaxed, safe and happy atmosphere to enable our members to enjoy themselves, and feel at home.
