Description:

Northcliffe Allotment Society is a registered charity that manages allotments under an agreement with Bradford Metropolitan District Council. There are 150 allotments which are let to people living in the local area. Applications for plots can be made through our website.

The society is developing community space that can be open to local people to come and enjoy but also work for wildlife.

We have achieved a lot already: creating a few raised beds which have been filled with herbs and flowers, a wildlife friendly area with ponds, brash piles and a habitat designed to please birds, butterflies and insects, and a tree nursery beds to grow on the small trees ready to be planted out in the woods and park.

To make more progress on this site we have recently set up a community garden and orchard group, which meets once a month on the first Saturday of each month from 10am to 12pm. It is open to anyone to come along and join in, there are always a range of jobs each time to suit people’s interest and capabilities. We have all the tools and gloves you need, but please wear boots or strong shoes as the site still has its challenges.
