West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service CIO is seeking to appoint a Community Accountant

Salary SCP 23 to 25: £27,741 – £29,577

37.5 hours per week (but will consider part time working)

Based in our Leeds office (but some home working is an option)

West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service CIO is a charity, established in 1999. We provide essential accountancy support (including end of year accounts and Independent Examinations) to more than 600 third sector organisations across West Yorkshire. We are a small team of 13, based in Leeds.

We know that our people are our greatest asset and our Board is committed to developing our staff. You’ll get lots of support, flexibility, training, and a wide variety of work. Plus you will be working every day with charities and community groups who really make a difference to people’s lives.

The Role:

  • Preparing year end accounts for third sector organisations
  • Undertaking Independent Examinations.
  • Providing advice and support to groups on topics such as QuickBooks, management accounts etc.
  • Working within a small team to share skills and expertise
  • One year post initially but likely to become permanent.

You will be an experienced accountant with excellent technical knowledge and good communication skills. If you have experience of producing charity accounts, that’s great, but it’s not essential. There will be lots of in-house training, so you will need to be committed to increasing your knowledge and skills. (We’ll pay for your CPD and professional membership fees to help with that). You will be really good at managing your time and caseload and at liaising with clients.

Interviews: Will be held on Wednesday 6th April at our offices
