BBS are looking for a Community Engagement Officer with a specific focus on engaging with Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) clients, males, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (or questioning) (LGBTQ) clients. The post-holder will be leading the organisations aim to become more diverse and will engage with these specific communities to increase awareness of BBS’s service, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of individuals in Bradford Metropolitan area affected by bereavement aged 16 years or over. A key outcome will be to see an increase in referrals by these communities to BBS’s services.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in line with BBS safeguarding standards - ensuring highest levels of support, opportunities, best practice principles and outcomes are achieved.
To be familiar with BBS as an organisation, its philosophy, aims and working methods, and to communicate this information to others as necessary.
To ensure confidentiality is always maintained and equal opportunities are promoted.
Duties will be subject to regular appraisal and will be discussed, reviewed, and updated as appropriate. Any amendments will be made in consultation and agreement with the post holder.
Other general duties as and when required by the Service Manager.
