Community Development Coordinator - Keighley & Ilkley

Our hubs are a warm welcoming space, where people can get the information, help, support or advice they need for their situation, or come in to volunteer their time or  pick up a bargain in the charity shop section. Each of our 6 Community Hubs is working towards delivering a range of functions including Information, Help and Support, Advice and Casework, Community Activities and Events alongside Fundraising.

Working with the operations team, the Community Development Coordinator will re-establish AUKBD’s presence and activities in the Keighley & Ilkley area and develop the community hub model across the area in line with our values and in response to community conversations and engagement and the availability of resources.

The hubs will work on an asset based community development approach and the post holder will be expected to take the lead on developing community responses and support that enable age friendly communities.  A significant part of the work will be around recruiting and developing volunteers and a network of community buddies.   

The post holder will require a person centred focus, experience of working with people, together with an understanding of the needs of older people and experience of volunteer support and project development.

The nature of the post will require travel in the area. A full driving license, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car is essential.

Salary £22,500 per annum pro rata. £17027.03 actual salary.

28 hours per week - to be worked flexibly to meet the needs of the business and the community

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays pro rata
