YHA Breaks Programmes 2 January 2018 The YHA offers breaks for young people and families with the most challenging lives. Registered charities or community and voluntary organisations can apply on the behalf of any individual or group of young people who meet the YHA's criteria. Groups can reapply annually as long as the application is for a different group of young people. There are several programmes targeting specific groups. Family Breaks. Aims to reach young people and families with the most challenging lives and provide them with life changing experiences. Applications open now. Educational support programme. Offers support to educational groups where members of the group are eligible for the pupil premium and where children and young people face additional social challenges. Groups are able to apply for support for up to 10 individual pupils, for up to 50% of the programme costs. Applications open 15 January 2018. Challenging Places. Aims to reach children and young people who live in areas recognised as being amongst the most deprived. Applications open 1 February 2018. Challenging Lives. Support for children and young people who are or have recently experienced life threatening medical or mental health conditions, bereavement or homelessness. Applications open 1 March 2018.
