The Kirkgate Centre is a community centre right in the heart of Shipley. We are run by and for our community, helping to make Shipley an even better place to live.
Converted from an old Victorian primary school, the building is full of character and offers a range of flexible spaces.
Access: The centre is wheelchair accessible and all on one level. Our main hall has a fixed hearing loop, and we have a portable system for other spaces in the centre. The centre also has a fully accessible toilet at each end of the building.
Location: Situated in Shipley town centre, we are in the centre of the District.
Getting here: The centre is only a couple of minutes walk from Shipley station and Market Square, which acts as a busy bus terminal. Regular buses travel across the district, and trains run to Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, Baildon, Bingley, Keighley, Skipton and beyond. The Bradford is 10 minutes and Leeds 14 minutes by train.
On-street parking provides accessible access, while a small carpark to the rear provides free parking. An adjacent pay-and-display carpark provides additional low-cost parking.
