Sport England - Small grants, no deadlines 3 May 2017 Sport England's small grants programme offers grants of £300 to £10,000 to get more people in England engaged in sport. Projects also need to meet one or more of the "Towards an Active Nation" strategy aims: Get inactive people to become more active Develop more resilient sporting habits Lead to more positive attitudes among young people Develop more diverse volunteers Improve progression and inclusion in talent development What can be funded? Funding is focused on projects that involve adults and young people aged 14 or over. "Projects working with mixed age groups may be considered if there is a particular focus on people aged 14 plus." Projects can last up to 12 months, must be focused on sports that are recognised by Sport England and provide a new activity that delivers sport and physical activity benefits or one that shows a clear expansion on existing activity. The total cost of the project must be less than £50,000. Can we get funding for equipment? Yes, under some circumstances. Page 5 of the guidance notes explains what's eligible, and the "what we would like to fund" page provides examples. Yes Additional equipment that will be used to provide new sporting opportunities or that is a defined league requirement. No Fixed equipment. Replacement of equipment that is at the end of its usable life. Replacement of equipment that has been owned or disposed of within the last 5 years. "Buying equipment shouldn't be the focus of your project. We view equipment as a means to achieving our target of getting more adults and young people over the age of 14 taking part in sport. Any application for equipment should explain why it is needed and how it will achieve this." Interested? Use the pre-application checklist to see if your project is eligible to apply for a grant. Please read the guidance notes before completing the application form. There are no applications deadlines. Questions? Telephone 03458 508 508 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
