Description Headquarters at Claremont houses extensive library and archives on the history and archaeology of people, places etc. in the historic county of Yorkshire. Library and archives open to the public by appointment. There are three publishing sections - Parish Registers, Record Series and Wakefield Court Rolls. The YAS publishes a journal each year. There are five special interest sections to the society - Prehistory, Roman, Medieval, Industrial and Family History. Each section has a programme of lectures and its own publications. Family History Section, Medieval Section & Parish Registers also have websites dedicated to their interests. Disabled visitors are advised to phone ahead so parking space can be reserved for them (parking is limited.)
