Our vision:

Is to bring communities and partners from all sectors together to rebuild the area's social capital so we have pro-active prosperous citizens who experience good health and wellbeing. The Centre is a resource for our communities and for frontline third sector groups. We are a distinctive venue providing rentable accommodation to new and established organisations that extend the services offered to our local communities. Our rooms are also available for conferencing and training with free Wi Fi throughout the building. Our on-site cafe provides catering facilities for conferences and to meet the needs of attendees. Our Hub @ the Centre provides a learning environment, with computers that can be used by groups for training. Thornbury Centre works with a number of key partners to create and deliver innovative projects that address needs and gaps in services. Our provision includes a wide range of projects providing caring and ethical services:

Street Life Speaks Out

This project aims to transform lives through working with young people and local community members to build personal resilience and increase access to resource(s) to overcome problems they face. It will develop skills and confidence so local people can influence and shape local and wider decision making about community priorities.

4 Life

4 Life is a health improvement project working across all ages. It provides healthy weight classes, physical activities and cook and eats. 4 Life also works with families creating bespoke programmes to help them make simple behaviour changes.

LACO Eastern European Migrant's Project

LACO works with EE and CEE communities - focusing on those of a Roma heritage. It brings a unique mix of health improvement initiatives. LACO works with cross sector partners to provide bespoke training/ activities and workshops to promote public health messages to tackle underlying health inequalities. We also provide bespoke training for all sectors who are working with Roma to increase understanding and promote engagement.

LACO Good Health

Good Health works with Roma women to improve the health outcomes of their families and children. It especially focuses on ante-post natal care and supports Roma women to engage more effectively with service providers. LACO Good Health also provides bespoke welfare benefit/ advocacy support.
