Our advice service

If you require specialist advice Independent Age’s advice service provide a confidential telephone advice service for people that are 65 + , their families and carers. The service covers our specialist knowledge areas and so appointments can range from a discussion around the assessment process for moving into care, how a hospital discharge should take place, to a full welfare benefit check to maximise your income.

Our advice is delivered on an appointment basis on weekdays between 9am to 4.30pm. The appointment will take place at a time convenient for you, however this may not necessarily be on the same day. If a call is needed at a specific time or if it is urgent, please let the helpline know when booking the appointment.

A Telephone translation service can be used for the appointment if this is needed and we are able to follow up our advice in writing when this would help.

The Advice service can also provide advice through email if this is preferred. Email advice@independentage.org We aim to respond to all email enquiries within 3 to 5 working days.
