Community Business Trade Up Programme, deadline 11 October 2017 17 August 2017 Run by School for Social Entrepreneurs in partnership with Power to Change, the programme helps the leaders of community businesses and community-focused social enterprises in England, by offering: A fully-funded learning programme: 12 days spread over six months (January to July 2018 with York being the nearest venue for organisations in Y&H region) A grant of up to £10,000 A community of people running similar organisations.

Curiosity Fund, C&YP's science-based projects, deadline 22 September 2017 8 August 2017 The Wellcome Trust have partnered with Comic Relief to create the Curiosity Fund. The fund will use the power of exciting and engaging science activities to create change for children and young people experiencing disadvantage in the UK. The scheme is offering grants of up to £10,000 to youth organisations for projects lasting up to nine months. Curiosity grants will allow organisations to develop new informal science learning activities to support young people's personal and social development.

Jane Tomlinson Appeal, children or cancer-related grants £250-£10k, deadline 4 September 2017 8 August 2017 Grants are available to voluntary organisations that are registered charities based or operating in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Lancashire or Nottinghamshire for projects that focus on children's or cancer related activities, services or operations. Grants range from £250 to £10,000. Inter Faith Youth Trust Small Grants, deadline 15 September 2017 2 August 2017 Grants of up to £500 are awarded for proposals for inter faith activities by children and young people from Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and other faiths and those of no formal faith in understanding and co-operation. The age range for young people is 11-25 years. Projects should take place during Inter Faith Week 2017 (12-19 November). The funding is available for the following: Learning by children and young people (11-25 years old) from different faiths about different faiths, through social action.

Henry Smith's Charity pausing grant applications during Sept 2017 2 August 2017 Henry Smith Charity's main grants programme will be taking a short break from accepting applications at the end of August 2017 while the funder makes some changes. The main grants programme will return in October 2017 with a new website, and with new guidelines and application materials. If you are already working on an application, please note that applications using the current form must reach the funder before 31 August 2017 at 5pm. Applications that are postmarked after 30 August will be returned.

Gadget Drive for Schools

Gadget Drive 26 July 2017 Gadget Drive collects items from the school, tests them and pays for them. The service is free. The school gets the full value of donated items. Donated items can include computers, laptops, mobilephones, digital cameras and game consoles.

Shipley Area Community Chest, deadline 29th September 2017 26 July 2017 Grants of up to £350 are available from Shipley Area Committee for community projects that benefit residents of Shipley Constituency. Applications are particularly welcome from new projects, innovative schemes and from previously unfunded groups. Ongoing costs such as venue hire and staffing will only be funded through a start-up grant for new organisations.  Grants will not normally be provided for ICT-related equipment or websites.  Applications are welcome from groups where other funding/fundraising has been secured.
