BFSS Looked after Children and Young Carers programme 12 January 2018 The BFSS has created a new grants programme "dedicated to improving approaches to the educational attainment of 'looked after children' and young carers in the UK". What can be funded? The funder wants to support "novel approaches to improving the educational attainment of looked after children and young carers which can be scaled up so that in time they are able to take advantage of opportunities afforded by tertiary education and employment."

Armed Forces Day event grants, deadline 30 April 2018 26 January 2018 Armed Forces Day takes place on the last Saturday each June. In 2018, it will take place on Saturday 30 June.  The Ministry of Defence offers grants of up to £10,000 to hold a event on or in the weeks around Armed Forces Day. Shipley Area Community Chest, deadline 2 March 2018 30 January 2018 Grants of up to £350 are available from Shipley Area Committee for community projects that benefit residents of Shipley Constituency. Applications are particularly welcome from new projects, innovative schemes and from previously unfunded groups. Parents in the Lead - activities for parents and under 4's 2 February 2018 The next deadline for applications for funding from 'Parents in the Lead' activities fund is Wednesday 28th February 2018. Who's it for?  Smaller parent/grandparent and community-led organisations in the Better Start Bradford area can apply. Funded projects will benefit families expecting babies and/or children under four and their parents. How much funding is available?  You can apply once a year for a maximum of £2,000. The usual amount the activities fund will give is £500. What type of activities will be funded?

Food Waste Reduction Fund, deadline 30 March 2018 5 February 2018 WRAP is accepting expressions of interest for a new Food Waste Reduction Fund. A total of £500,000 is available to allocate in grants of £20,000 to £75,000. Funding is provided by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). The fund aims to help avoid surplus food produced by food businesses from becoming waste by enabling not-for-profit organisations across England to redistribute more of this food to people in need.

Changes in progress at Trusthouse Charitable Foundation 5 February 2018 Trusthouse Charitable Foundation is in the process of making changes to how groups can apply for a grant: New applications for grants under the "small", "standard" and "large" and "village hall/ community centre" programmes will now be made online. Hospice grant applications remain paper-based. However the Foundation will only accept unsolicited applications for hospice grants up to 31 March 2018.
