Growing a Greener Britain small grants, no deadlines 14 February 2017 Growing a Greener Britain's small grants programme aims to support communities to transform green spaces that are open to the public. Grants of up to £1,000 are available for constituted community groups in the UK. What can be funded? Improvements or modifications to publicly accessible parks, gardens, cemeteries and green open spaces including those in social housing schemes can be funded. Also eligible are projects in state school grounds and privately owned grounds that encourage the public to enter and enjoy them free of charge - this includes many university grounds. Projects can include: Creation of wildlife areas and ponds. Improvement of disabled access. Making an area safer or more family friendly. Projects of environmental and biodiversity management education in local communities. Training or employment opportunities for young people who are not currently in training or employment. Interested? The small grants programme is open all year round. Community groups can apply at anytime and will receive a response from the funder within 8 weeks.
