Thornton Singers |
Mixed voice choir of around 45 singers, first established in 1907. Our aim is to enjoy music, to provide entertainment to our audience and to enjoy friendships within the choir. We perform concerts in various locations in West Yorkshire and occasionally beyond. No experience required! If you enjoy singing, you're welcome to join the group. We are a volunteer group who are in process of takeover the running and management of the Community Centre on Market Street in Thornton, Bradford from Bradford Council, because of cuts to their budget they are unable to continue. |

Together Women |
Together Women offers holistic, tailored support to women and girls with multiple and complex needs across Yorkshire and Humberside. Our trained, expert key workers provide gender-specific support for women and girls, helping to identify their needs and addressing them in various ways: one-to-one work, group therapy and signposting to partner specialist services which operate from our centres. Our centres are safe, comfortable, women-only spaces within which Together Women staff provide needs assessment, action-planning, support and case management for women and girls, with a wide range of services and groups all under one roof. Referrals: Together Women’s services can be accessed on a voluntary basis or as part of a court requirement and we support women to overcome barriers that can make it difficult for them to engage with services |
Tong Park Esholt Cricket Club |
Tong Park Esholt Cricket Club are proud to field three senior teams, playing league cricket on Saturday afternoons throughout the season with cup games on a Sunday. Home games take place at our main ground in Esholt Village. Whilst away grounds feature the likes of Saltaire, Calverley, Steeton, Otley, Guiseley and Rawdon. We re-launched our Junior section in 2017 and this has grown rapidly over the last few seasons. As an inclusive family friendly community club with players and volunteers living locally, we welcome new junior playing members of all ages and abilities. Tools for Self Reliance |
We collect and refurbish sewing machines and tools and send them to people in Africa. These people set up businesses with the tools/sewing machines and thereby become self-sufficient. Training for those who receive the tools is provided by local partner organisations. Touchstone Support |
Touchstone Support services in Bradford: Liaison and Diversion services identify people who have mental health, learning disability, substance misuse or other vulnerabilities when they first come into contact with the criminal justice system as suspects, defendants or offenders. Shafa works with people form the South Asian community who have offended. We support people to access local resources, including employment, training, education and housing. We help people to address family relationship issues and substance misuse and will support people to recognise and address their triggers for offending behaviour. We focus on well being, health, housing, relationships, family, cultural considerations, employment and training. Touchstone Loves the Arts is the home for all Touchstone’s work within the arts for mental health and wellbeing. We support service users and members of communities that Touchstone serves to develop projects, workshops, and other arts interventions with the aims of promoting well-being and preventing mental health issues through creativity across West Yorkshire. West Yorkshire ADHD and Autism Deep Dive Project works with people with lived experience and our partners across all sectors to understand the current experience of users and families of Autism and ADHD services and assess ways of improving services and addressing social inequalities faced by neurodivergent people. Touchstone will be responsible for the co-production element of the project, ensuring voices from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences are involved in every aspect. |
Trees for Cities |
Trees for Cities is a UK and international charity working with schools, communities and local authorities to connect people with nature. Here in Bradford we have coordinated Tree for Every Child, planting 55k trees in schools and new woodlands and are now embarking on Trees for Climate Action across the district. Trees for Schools is a Trees for Cities programme, which aims to transform urban school grounds into leafy green oases for both the children of today and for future generations, 12 of which are in Bradford schools. |

The service helps people in financial need access the money available to them through welfare benefits and charitable grants. |
Ukrainians Together in Age (UTA) |
Our lively Pensioners Lunch Club is held every Wednesday at lunch time, bringing older people together to enjoy a hot nutritious meal and to socialise with friends at the same time. The Pensioners – some of whom are now in their 90s, arrive for activities such as keep fit, singing and also a hot meal, followed by a lively game of bingo. Everyone is welcome to join as long as they have a Ukrainian connection. How You Can Help! Volunteering – There are plenty of volunteering opportunities available throughout the year. We are always greatful for volunteers to help serve food, chat to our elderly and offer the occasional lift. Support – Please contact us if you know of anyone who requires assistance or would benefit in joining our Pensioners Lunch Club . The current pension club manager, Nadia Murphy, also undertakes home visits as part of the outreach work/ befriending aspect of the club. |

If you're thinking about joining UWFRA first consider the following: - Are you competent on the hills in all weathers and on all terrains? If the answer is yes then there may be a place for you. Applications for membership have now closed and will re-open again in October 2023 for a 2024 intake. Successful candidates are invited to the team base for an interview, to assess their suitability to join the team, and those who have the skills we need are invited to become pre probationary members at the January intake. Applications should be made to membership@uwfra.org.uk. Pre-probation lasts for 6 months where members are assessed on their personal skills and also undergo specific training, such as stretcher assembly, rigging, navigation tests and first aid. |

Upstagers is a youth theatre group based in Ilkley. There are usually two main shows a year - a pantomime in January and a musical summer show in July. Performers aged 6 to 25.
