History

The DIVA directory was originally developed to build on several existing information sources about VCS groups in the Bradford District.  The largest of these information sources was the Clubs and Societies database maintained by Bradford Libraries. This was fully integrated into the DIVA directory in 2005.

In 2008 DIVA worked with Bradford and Airedale tPCT to add a new section to the directory specifically for funded services.  In 2009 DIVA worked with The Advice Network and Training Partnership so that the directory could list all advice services in the district.

In late 2009, DIVA recieved funding support from the European Regional Development Fund via the Enterprising Bradford programme.  This has helped to further develop DIVA by supporting the development of this new website. The DIVA website now has an improved look and lots of additional functionality to further establish it as the primary portal for the VCS in the Bradford District.

The aim of DIVA is to be the gateway to third sector procurement opportunities, to encourage collaborative working, and to facilitate enterprise and communication.
